Sentiments And Behaviors Behind Charitable Giving This Holiday Season
As the holiday season gets into full swing, many people use this time to help charities by giving donations. From the iconic Salvation Army kettles to the recently created Giving Tuesday (which falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving), generosity by people during this time of year jumps. Even with the pandemic, personal charitable giving via online donation sites increased 20% in 2020.
Our recent omnibus looked at charitable giving to see both how our respondents donate and what influences their decision to contribute to their chosen charity (or charities) specifically.
We investigated the awareness of different charities as well as their stated monetary donations. Additionally, we queried preferences for giving to local chapters, national groups or global organizations.
